Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursery Worker to join our Nursery volunteer team! Our Nursery Worker is responsible for caring for children up to age 4, assisting with diapering and potty training, leading story and snack time, and helping with beginning catechism questions. Our nursery worker must communicate well with parents and work well with other volunteers. This is a church setting, so professing faith in Christ is a must.

Responsibilities

• Will work as a paid nursery worker alongside a team of Trinity volunteers
• Set up and prepare nursery spaces upon arrival, making sure spaces are clean and in order
• Assists Nursery Coordinator in greeting parents in hallway outside of the nursery, ensuring that drop off and dismissal policies are followed
• Ensure that nursery policies and procedures are observed
• May be asked to serve as a floater between the two nurseries during Sunday morning worship service
• Provide age-appropriate care including, but not limited to: comforting, feeding, changing diapers, toileting assistance, maintaining a safe environment, sleeping best practices, and playing and interacting with nursery children.
• Assist in keeping nursery clean and in order for next use
• Document any incidents, injuries, or other pertinent information and communicate to Nursery Coordinator or Children’s Ministry Coordinator
• Communicate to Nursery Coordinator or Children’s Ministry Coordinator recommendations for changes to nursery policies
• Communicate with Nursery Coordinator or Children's Ministry Coordinator about any needed supplies (updated toys, cleaning supplies, baby supplies, etc.)
• Communicates recommendations for volunteer numbers in each room, if necessary, to the Nursery Coordinator
• Ensures safety and security of the nursery environment, informing Nursery Coordinator or Children’s Ministry Coordinator about any issues in a timely manner
• Other duties as assigned by the Children’s Ministry Coordinator or Pastor Overseeing Youth and Family Ministry
• Communicate in advance to the Children’s Ministry Coordinator any planned absences or unplanned absences at least one hour prior to the shift

Qualifications

• Must profess faith in Christ
• Experience in caring for children between the ages of 6 weeks through 3 years old
• At least 18 years of age
• Current Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certification required prior to start (reimbursement for American Red Cross course fee available)
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Satisfactory completion of background check
• Must adhere to the Trinity Church Kirkwood Policy and Procedure Manual
• A letter of recommendation from a pastor at applicant’s church of attendance
• Two additional references

This position is weekly on Sunday mornings from 9am-12pm (with select shorter weeks ending at 11) with the potential for addition Wednesday morning hours from 9-11.
