REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS • High school diploma or GED
• Prior experience working with homeless populations highly preferred
• Comfortable working independently and handling escalated situations
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills
PREFERRED SKILLS
• Experience in nonprofit or shelter environments
• Conflict resolution or de-escalation training
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

$15/hr

Part Time Saturday and Sunday 12:30 am-12:30 pm

ROLE IMPACT
Supports a nonprofit shelter in providing a safe, orderly, and compassionate environment for residents.
Essential in enforcing rules, offering support to guests, and helping maintain facility standards that ensure dignity and safety for all.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Monitor shelter activities and ensure policy compliance
• Assist residents with basic needs and questions
• Enforce shelter rules and address concerns professionally
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of common areas
• Serve as a point of contact for guests; provide support and resolve conflicts
• Accurately document incidents and daily activities
• Arrive punctually for scheduled shifts and stay late when required
EQUIPMENT & WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Indoor shelter setting with frequent interaction with residents
• Moderate physical activity including standing and walking
• May require occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs)
• Exposure to crisis situations requiring calm and composed responses
